About Legacy
Mission Statement:
“To produce the highest quality, freshest tasting, locally produced and
processed milk at a fair market price."...AND..."To enable future
generations of local dairy farm families to return to the family farm.”
Legacy Dairy & Creamery is a processing facility which processes raw
milk from members dairy farms into pasteurized milk, which is then
placed in returnable glass bottles. This milk is now being made
available to grocery stores and grocery chains in Nebraska and
surrounding areas.
The difference between our product from other products is we only use
milk from cows that are not receiving added growth hormones (bovine
somatatropin, aka bst).
Legacy’s goals include:
1. To allow future generations to take over dairy farms which have been
struggling due to rising costs of production and stagnate raw milk prices.
2. To provide another purchaser of milk to Nebraska dairy farmers.
3. To produce a premium quality fluid milk.
4. To promote dairy products and their health benefits to consumers.
5. To offer locally produced milk.
Our facility is located in Hallam, NE:
In May of 2004 a tornado completely destroyed almost all the homes
and businesses in Hallam. We are happy to be located in Hallam,
because it is centrally located between our members farms and is also
within 70 miles of three-quarters of the population of Nebraska.
